Has anyone ever heard this DVD? Is it just standard DVD or is it DVD-A?

I've seen this one for sale a couple of times, but I wasn't willing to take the plunge on a mere hope.

Hi Dave,

Be careful on the price on this baby b/c I've seen them all over the board. The MoFi meltdown around the time of release really made the value of this DVD go all over the board. If ya look around, ya should be able to go south of $30.

I've got lotsa Saunders' stuff from when he had a band w/ Jerry Garcia, Tom Fogerty, Bill Vitt, and John Kahn in the mid 70's. Very spacey stuff that I really dig so my recommendation is to buy the DVD.

Since this is a music site, I'll add some trivia. In the summer of 1986, Jerry Garcia went into a major diabetic coma and when he recovered he was unable to play any musical instrument. Mr. Saunders went to Jerry's house everyday and taught Jerry to play the guitar again while Merl played the piano. The Grateful Dead were so concerned about the strong friendship that had redeveloped between Merl & Jerry that they went out of their way to keep Merl from Jerry. Mr. Saunders did a great thing that unfortunately few people give him credit for.

I have the original MFSL pressing of this (since was recently re-issued on a different label) - and if I remember correctly it is as neither DD or DVD-Audio. I think my copy was a straight uncompressed PCM at something like 48/16. I will have to check.
