Great joke. At least, I'm assuming it's *meant* to be a joke...Oh, God, please tell me that's meant to be a joke!

One saving grace: the astounding 'chariot race' that is simply mind-boggling. But the rest of it? Grinds on and on and on and on...Heston's charisma saves it from total boredom, but at one point I was hoping more than just those two women would contract leprosy, just to get the movie over with....:D ;)
My sister, on the other hand, is a fan, but I'd rather watch the old silent version....

Of course don't forget the infamous scene when they're rowing in the hull of the ship. "Ramming speed!!!" :D

I loved that part about the background scenery in "Lawrence of Arabia": "Clutter, clutter, clutter"

Actually, Pixar has done this with some of their films on home video. For instance, in order to create a 4:3 transfer for the scope "A Bugs Life", they re-composed the film shot by shot. There were a number of shots where they were able to pan and scan for acceptable composition, but for other shots, they did things like rendering additional vertical information and re-positioning characters in the frame. There's a very cool featurette on it on the 2-disc DVD releases of "A Bug's Life".

One of many points in the film where I realize it's 'tinkle time' and head off to the loo.....:D

Which is where the 'Flik' in the name 'FlikFX' Comes from. They got the idea from Pixar. :)

Ther used to a website that told you exactly what frame number to go to in "ben Hur" to see the airplane flying by!!!! I know it was on the VHs and the Ld, they may have snipped it out of the DVd, I dont know.

To make their redeux complete, all they need to do now is overdub the original "Lawrence of Arabia" theme with the version with lyrics sung by "Officer Clark" in the movie The Hollywood Knights ;).
"Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia,
he's an English guy,
he came to fight the Turkish"
