Hey, If you like it, it's OK. Why do we have to categorize each other based on Music Lovers versus Equipment junkies. If we didn't like music, we wouldn't have bought the equipment. Without, the equipment, the music is just black (or silver or gold) garbage. I don't know about you, but I wish I could sing or play an instrument. Then I could really be part of the music. Well, maybe I do immerse myself in the sound. Being the untalented toad that I am, I have to depend on others for my musical enjoyment. Those folks on those little black grooves (or silver or gold 0's and 1's).

Stop the madness. Or at least temper it with a little humor.

I would also love to be musically gifted - but I am not - I am very not - I am completely not :) I love listening to music though :D and when I sing along in my own head I sound just like ( fill in the blank ). I have bought myself a drum kit and I really enjoy making a noise but it isn't music yet (no co-ordination) - I have had a banjo (relatively uncommon in the UK I think) since my late teens but my fingers are too stubby. My voice can etch glass at 50 paces - -would singing lessons actually be able to help me - if they would I would take them.

A bit of madness is OK from time to time but enjoying music is so much better.

All the best - Andrew

Yes, enjoy it. I sing along too. I really need a shower stall for the full effect, but it's hard to fit into the listening room. Be true to your muse. Listening well is an art form in itself. So I guess we are prisoners of the muse of listening. Loving music is a joy unto itself. Good luck to you and your drums.

A long hallway can also be an excellent place to practice singing and even a basement stairwell.;)
