The Marantz SA-1 SACDs have a history of early problems with disc transport. This is just an example (as I'm working). :)

I never got a chance to see this player in person. It's a shame about the transport problems. I bet a 100% working unit (without transport woes) would be brilliant...

Can't stand the Marantz disc units. Never could. They build a very good unit around a stone-and-wheel primitive transport drive. I just don't get it. Same with a lot of Dennon CDP units too. Great drive, and a hellish transport.

Kinda like someone building a great house for you, but the door falls and hits you in the head when you try and pull on the knob.
