Just came across this post in the archives...
For Fans of The Bears/Adrian Belew and/or Jill Sobule
A nightclub in Pittsburgh (Club Cafe) is offering DVDs (video) of concerts by these 2 acts. I was a tad leery going in wondering how good the quality could be. Both discs are EXTREMELY well shot and the 5.1 surround audio mix is stellar... in fact, I'd argue it's better than a # of major-label releases I've purchased.
The Bears DVD has gobs of bonus material and runs about 3 hours.
I thought I'd give folks here a heads-up as you have to look pretty hard to find these. I have no relationship with the club or distributor--- just a fan. Thanks!

...and I have to agree. In fact, my new column for DVD Etc.'s Jan-Feb 2005 issue - which should hit the newsstands any day now - is a two page spread on The Bears, one of my favorite bands. The DVD is well produced by the fine folks at Merging Media, and the right side of my column includes some technical specs on how The Bears were "captured," so to speak...
