Digital Photog...."Dust on Sensor" Factor

Just how much of an issue/problem is dust accumulating on the sensor specially with interchangeable lens SLRs? Should this be a large factor in choosing a digital camera?

Which sensor is the issue? the exposure is probably controlled by sensors in the lens and autofocus, at least on the SLR models, would also happen through the lens as opposed to an infrared sensor on the body of the camera. Keep the lens relatively clean and it shouldn't be an issue....
