Heard a fantastic jazzy extended rendition of 'Lullaby Of Broadway' done by a young Doris Day fronting a fabulous big jazz band. The trumpet solos were mind blowing and it sounded a lot like Harry James to me but I'm not sure. If anyone is familiar with this description please let me know which recording it could be as I really want to get it.

What you may have heard was the version from the 1950 movie "Young Man With A Horn" staring Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall and Doris Day and inspired by Bix Beiderbecke's life. One of my favorite movies .... great soundtrack (that is Harry James on trumpet) ... and available on CD (Columbia/Legacy CK 65508).
