Do you have a wish list of albums recorded in analog but not yet (to your knowledge) released in an audiophile-grade LP? Post your list!
The following is my all analog wish list, in order of preference:
Blue Rodeo - Five Days in July. If I could buy only one more LP, this would be it. It's only available on CD (may be out of print, now) and it's not bad for a CD. A musical journey, not just an album.
Renaissance - Novella
Julee Cruise - Floating Into The Night
XTC - English Settlement
Dire Straits - Making Movies
Steely Dan - Can't Buy A Thrill
Outlaws - S/T
Neil Diamond - Tap Root Manuscript
Badfinger - Straight Up. The DCC CD didn't hold a candle to the Apple original.
Jackson Browne - Running On Empty. Just "Cocaine" would be worth the price of the LP.
Yes - The Yes Album
Thanks!

About "Can't Buy a Thrill", I think the Speakers Corner LP reissue is all-analog mastered.

Yep. According to the stats on all SC issues, it is analog mastered. You can also find MCA reissue LPs that are DEFINATELY analog mastered, as well as the crappy pressed ABC issues. The cover will be a gatefold though, as artist intended. Everyone looking young!

Wasn't Novella available from MFSL back in the '80's in vinyl? I haven't heard one, as this is where I fell off the Renaissance wagon.

Buckingham-Nicks - The first album by Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks before joining Fleetwood Mac. This album goes for big bucks on the second hand market. I have 2 copies. (No you can't have the extra). I think Stevie Nicks voice sounds the best it ever sounded on this album. I don't understand why "Crystal" was the only number on this album re-released by Fleetwood Mac. Ther are 4 or 5 other songs which are better.
Lee Oskar - Side one is one of the most enjoyable album sides of all time. It just grooves like crazy. You can't listen to this and not end up smiling.

Thanks lil.fred. I didn't know "Can't Buy A Thrill" was issued by Speakers Corner. Their LPs are great sounding.
reidc, the only Renaissance LP issued by MFSL was "Scheherazade and Other Stories" (1-099). Although MFSL issues were generally better than the commercial pressings, their sound was a bit screwy at times. There are a lot of MFSL titles I'd like to see others do, and better.
Here's a site that lists MFSL releases.

This site lists a UHQR by the Moody Blues (Days of Future Passed). I don't remember that being released as a UHQR. Can anybody confirm? Thanks.

Wow- now that's a sign of older age or something! Mentally in my mind I could see an image of Novella with the "Original Master Recording" across the top!!!
My bad!

A question for those keen on Novella.
There are two US Sire releases that were released within a short time of each other. One is SA-7526 and the other is SR-6024. The cover is similar in concept but a different drawing.
The info in the inner groove is particular to each release so I'd guess it was recut for the second release.
Any info?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Pablo,
SA-7526 was the original cover. You will find a bit more information by going to this site and scrolling down to the Novella album:

Many thanks Ripple!
Any idea on why this was done?
Best regards.

I don't know Pablo. I liked the second cover better. Who knows why record companies do the weird things they do?
