Hey thanks thats cool all that stuff about him hes awsome guitar player very fast.:)
One thing about Yngwie - the guy isn't afraid to speak his mind.
One of the guitar magazines interviewed him a few years ago, and they played him a bunch of guitar music and asked him to evaluate the playing. I remember he really ripped on Mike MacReady (Pearl Jam), and he called Gary Moore "sloppy". He also was bugged that Eddie Van Halen seemed to be avoiding him (maybe Eddie is intimidated by Yngwie - ha!)
One of the few players he had kind words for was John Petrucci (Dream Theater). And, of course, nothing but praise for his idol, Ritchie Blackmore.
A very entertaining, lively interview (maybe even more so than his albums ;-)
What??? Nothing in regards to Joe Satriani?:D

Is this the interview where he talks about how everyone but him plays out of tune? Doesn't he talk about Kirk Hammett?
He always says a lot of controversial, ill-advised crap. The latest I've seen was the other thread where he says Deep Purple should have hired him instead of Steve Morse. One time, a guy in Sweden wrote a letter to editor of Guitar World and apologized on behalf of their entire country for Yngwie.
His on-stage persona is hilarious. Leather fringe and big boots and he does these stupid kicks in the air. At some point, he brings up his tropy wife to show the crowd. Too bad he was never feature on Beavis n Butthead.

Yep, that's the one. As I recall, he was none too impressed with Kirk Hammett either, though he did admit Kirk was "fast".
It must've really hurt him that he didn't get the Purple gig, seeing how he worships Ritchie. Though I can't fault him for that - I'm a big Blackmore fan too.
But you have to admit that his candor is refreshing. Most guys are very humble in interviews, and you KNOW that they have a king sized ego, but they are just being polite. Besides that, I actually found myself agreeing with Yngwie on a few things!
