Well, I guess i waited for the rerun before I watched because the promos had no strong enticement for me. After all - they plugged Paul Mcartney, Elton John, Ozzy and Queen ENDLESSLY, and quite franky:

Elton 2002 no longer does it for me.

Ozzy has finally "done it" for me, alas only as a "sitcom" rock star (I guess I always viewed him that way).

Queen is .... missing something (great muscians, true - but I have seen these great musicians with a great singer/showman).

Paul Mcartney is a legend, but has left me cold for almost 2 decades..........

However - Mcartney was hot, and hinted (promised???) a second leg US tour.

Why didn't they mention that George Martin would introduce the George Harrison tribute section with Paul and Eric Clapton performing "While my Guitar gently Weeps"? He mentioned that these were "two people present at the original session". While it wasn't a knock-down performance, it was a fine tribute, it had the spirit of the original song.

Uncle Al, I too just sneaked a peek at the tribute and thought some of the performances were rather good (Cocker, McCartney, Clapton). I missed the Queen performances (would have liked to have seen the old boys) but you're right in that once Freddie left us, Queen was no more.

I wonder if this is going to be released on video/CD. I would probably buy it.

John Deacon the bass player wasn't there either,he has retired and has nothing to do with the music biz.It was strange for me to watch 2 guys walk out as QUEEN ,I found the performance rather hollow and awkward.
