R.E.M. - Perfect Square
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band - Live in Barcelona
Both DVDs represent the first release of complete concerts by both artists. (Previous live videos were composites of multiple shows).

If you're interested in "making-of" documentaries in addition to concert films, check out the series of "Classic Albums" DVDs. Most of them are really well-done. My favorites include Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Aja, Dark Side of the Moon, Grateful Dead Anthem to Beauty, Graceland, The Band and Electric Ladyland.

"Monterey Pop" Criterion Collection is pretty deluxe.
I haven't seen it yet, but Peter Gabriel's "Play" comes out today and has been getting good reviews.

I'll second the recommendation for the Classic Albums series. They're great if you like to see and hear about how the recordings were made.
I may pick up Peter Gabriel's "Play" myself--I also got the DVD for his tour last year, "Growing Up". It's pretty good, although I've never really watched many concert videos lately (and I have a few dozen concerts on LD that I haven't watched in at least a decade).

A few recent goodies:
Cat Stevens--"Majikat" Great songs, great sound, excellent visuals, fun extras.
"Festival Express" Can't imagine any music fan not liking this!
The new INXS video collection is extremely well done.

Live Aid comes out today. Though there's been a lot of grousing that the complete shows aren't included, the majority of the highlights are there.
NRBQ-One In A Million has a too short but exciting vintage set by a band that everyone needs to hear at least once. Big Al Anderson's guitar work is superb.
An older title, but still one of the best filmed and sounding DVD's is Roy Orbison: A Black And White Night.
Ramones Raw is just what the title says, rough around the edges, mainly made up of Marky Ramone's camcorder shot footage while on tour, as well as TV and filmed concert footage, but I had a blast watching it.
The Clash: Westway To The World is a fine, emotional documentary, and The Essential Clash is a nice companion to it (and in fact was originally conceived as an add-on to the documentary DVD after Joe Strummer's passing.).
Another older piece, just reissued this year, The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit is a great document of that period in time. The new version has even more footage as extras, even stuff that the most jaded Beatle freak hasn't seen before.

A few I would recommend from my collection:
Concert for George - One of the best. You get both the theatrical version with the interviews and backstage footage and a second disc of the entire concert.
The Beatles: Anthology - The only way to hear many of their songs in surround sound. Many promo film included also.
Ed Sullivan Shows Featuring The Beatles
Bjork - I have two of her videos including the 'Greatest Hits' with all the videos. Her live concerts are another animal and I enjoy them.
Crowded House: Dreaming - The Videos
Neil Finn - 7 Worlds Collide: Collector's Edition
Neil Finn: Sessions at West 54th
These are all good. The Sessions at West 54th is the best. It has PCM and 5.1 tracks.
There is a series of Sessions at West 54th discs including a best of.
David Gilmour in Concert - Good acoustic concert with solo and Floyd stuff.
Led Zeppelin - If you're a fan, a must.
Monterey Pop: The Criterion Collection - Expensive, but excellent. Contains original film plus Jimi at Monterey and Shake! Otis at Monterey.
Pat Benatar: Live In New Haven - The concert most of her live 'videos' came from on MTV in the 80's. The 5.1 mix is horrible, but the 2 channel is good.
Paul McCartney: Live At The Cavern Club - I have many Paul live DVD's. This is hands down the best performance and sound wise.
The Who: The Kids are Alright: Special Edition

Fleetwood Mac THE DANCE: amazing mix and picture. A real showcase. LB is a genius.
Although not strictly a music DVD, GIMME SHELTER is a must-own for anyone interested in witnessing the death of the 60's. The footage of the Stones in the studio hearing back tracks is wonderful!

The Last Waltz....the new DVD has some prev unreleased jam footage. nothing amazing, but still cool to have, from an historical perspective. sound is mixed very well too.
Rory Gallagher: Irish Tour '74.....is a great documentary film & has some excellent footage of Rory explaining different playing techiniques & music philosophy.
Jimi Hendrix: Blue Wild Angel....new release of his Isle of Wight show. more footage, highly recommended!!
and of course the Led Zep DVD set that just came out :goodie:

Unless we're talking about Plant and Page Unledded. I know Led Zeppelin. I grew up with Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin was a friend of mine. Mr Senator, that was no Led Zeppelin. :)
But it was kind of interesting anyway.

Stevie Ray Vaughan now has a few DVD's out, but I consider his AUSTIN CITY LIMITS essential viewing/listening. I second the LAST WALTZ and ROY ORBISON suggestions and also propose WOODSTOCK Director's Cut.

I was really disappointed in this one, but not because of the music, which is great. The jittery camera work drove me crazy. Hold the thing still for longer than a nano second fer cryin' out loud.
My picks:
Concert for George. I echo everything everyone else has said about this one.
The Last Waltz. Simply the best concert film ever.
I just picked up Boz Scaggs today and while I haven't seen the whole thing, it's great. Whatta voice!

I picked up the Norah Jones, Live Aid, and Peter Gabriel today. (circuit city price matches and 15% discount)
Looking to pick up the Aimee Mann thru Deepdiscountdvd.com (20% off deal).
Love the Cat Stevens and Boz Scaggs DVDs.
Wasn't sure about UNLEADDED, but I'll probably get it anyway. Just heard about a STEPPENWOLF DVD. (already have the John Kay DVD)
I have most of the suggestions, but I'm always looking for more .... :D
