Are there any albums out there that just will not benefit from being remastered onto SACD or LP? I have heard that since the 80's many groups have recorded at 16/44 and 18/48 digital, with no analog what so ever in the process. Would these types of masters prove futile in SACD/LP? ANy others that where just poorly mastered in analog that would not benefit, such as the Hollies or others?

Tim,

Any master tape would be enhanced by thoughtful mastering, no matter the format.

That Hollies stuff you mentioned? All it needs is some "magic" mastering to bring out the good and hide the bad.

Makes perfect sense to me, Steve. Something that other audio engineers ought to be keeping in mind in this day and age.

...Acoustic Sounds is selling each CCR title for $350... and people are kicking themselves that they were so silly as to imagine they had it all figured out in 2002 and they didn't care about another version of CCR...

So anyway, what did that hole-punched CD of DCC's Elvis' 24 Karat Hits fetch on ebay yesterday?

I guess they're right, history does repeat...

Yea, Look what Steve did with the Zombies. I can only imagine the Hollies with Steve's treatment! Lush!
