Was the SACD actually released yesterday? I looked for it, but didn't see a copy. Anybody know?

I purchased it on Saturday (I guess the store I bought at broke steet date), and it is pretty good.
I wouldn't expect it to win any sonic awards for SACD of the year but there are some really nice sounding cuts.
I found the best stuff was from the 1969 sessions, while the cuts from 1973 and 1979 didn't sound as good - but that has to be inherent in the produciton values of those tapes as opposed to the SACD medium itself.
The best sounding cuts on the disc, IMO, are "Dallas", "Miss Ann", "It's My Own Fault", and "Memory Pain". "Memory Pain" does have some master tape anomolies that mar the overall presentation a bit, but the sonic qualities are still very good.
Many of the other cuts just seem a bit veiled in comparison, but I am still glad to have an SACD of this kind of music. I have been a Johnny Winter fan since the '70s so I was happy to be able to add this to my collection.
And for those who can't find it, www.elusivedisc.com has them available. And if you live in New Jersey - Compact Disc World got their copies in yesterday (Tuesday 1/29/02) - so it should be readily available.
If you like this kind of music I do not think you will be disappointed in this SACD.

The Tower Records store at Columbus & Bay Sts. here in San Francisco had it in their SACD/DVD-A section. The selection is very up-to-date and comprehensive.:)

I've seen it listed as available on the Elusive Disc web site (
http://www.mailordercentral.com/elusivedisc/prodinfo.asp?number=SONSA85926&variation=&aitem=19&mitem=254) , but not at the Tower Record stores I've been in lately (San Mateo and Concord).
But those stores did have the other 2 Sony SACDs that came out this week by Destiny's Child & Marcelo Alvarez.
