Every title in the Warner gangster collection will feature a "Warner Night at the Movies" feature similar to what appeared on "Yankee Doodle Dandy" including Leonard Maltin introduction, vintage newsreel, short subject films, animated cartoons, and contemporaneous trailers. Here's the run-down of live action shorts and cartoons: Little Caesar (1930) - Short: "The Hard Guy" (Spencer Tracy's 2nd film), Cartoon: " Lady Play Your Mandolin" The Public Enemy (1931) - Comedy Short: "The Eyes Have It" (Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy), Cartoon: "Smile, Darn Ya, Smile" The Petrified Forest (1936) - Musical Short: "Rhythmitis" (w/Hal LeRoy), Cartoon: "The Coo-Coo Nut Grove" Angels With Dirty Faces (1938) - Musical Short: "Out Where the Stars Begin" (early technicolor), Cartoon: "Porky and Daffy" The Roaring Twenties (1939) - Musical Short: "All Girl Revue" (w/June Allyson), Comedy Short: "The Great Library Misery" (Grouch Club comedy by Nat Hiken), Cartoon: "Thugs with Dirty Mugs" White Heat (1949) - Comedy Short: "So You Think You’re Not Guilty" (a George O'Hanlon "Joe McDoakes" short), Cartoon: "Homeless Hare"Regards,

I've been waiting for Cagney on DVD for years! YES!
Now if we can get...Johnny Come Lately, Each Dawn I Die, City For Conquest and all the rest! I can retire my ratty VHS copies.

I picked it up yesterday for US$40.99 at my local Costco. That's less than 7 bucks per title for 6 great-to-classic films. So far the mastering and supplements are looking very good as well. Between the WB Gangsters DVD box set and the Complete Motown Singles Collection, I am in hog heaven this week. I think George Feltenstein and Harry Weinger have been reading my diary.

But not your bank account, eh?Well, if you average the DVD and CD box sets, it lands somewhere between expensive and extravagant. :)

I ended up getting my box set at BestBuy because my local Costco didn't carry it.
Paid a little more than Ken ($50 after using a BestBuy Reward certificate) but its well worth the cost. Nice to have all these great old pictures in one collection.
I can remember watching these movie on TV growing up just loving them....especially "Little Ceasar". They just don't seem to put these on TV anymore.

...got this on Tuesday, it was worth the wait! Cagney is one of my all time favorite actors...been a fan since I was a kid. He was a great man and was married to the same woman for over 50 years! Never read any dirt on him either...a class act...
