About a dozen years ago or more, I was traveling on business and caught part of a comedy movie on HBO or Showtime, but I don't know the title. It was one of these joke-a-minute movies - kinda like Airplane in that sense, but this one had nothing to do with airplanes.

Here are a few things I recall about the movie:
During the credits, a woman is shown lying face down on the beach. When she gets up, you can see she's pretty well-built and there's two huge depressions in the sand.

In one scene you hear a hard-rock band and when the group comes into the picture, they're all white-haired guys, about 75 years old, slammin' electric guitars.

Then there's a scene where the lead actor winds up underwater and lo and behold, he finds a saloon under the sea, complete with swinging doors. Naturally, a barroom brawl ensues - all underwater.

Don't know the young lead actor in the flick, but I do think this movie may have subsequently run on Comedy Central. Ring a bell with anyone?

It's the 1983 classic comedy TOP SECRET. The AIRPLANE! guys are responsible. Val Kilmer's first movie role IIRC.

The song is "Skeet Surfing"...when they shoot the curl, they REALLY shoot the curl!

I love this movie but a lot of folks (like my wife) are befuddled by it.

PS there is saurkraut in my lederhosen.

What a funny movie. I think it's brilliant actually, but it was not a big hit at the time of it's release.

Thanks, pdenny. Yeah, Val Kilmer - that's gotta be it.

And right, davenav, it wasn't a biggie at the time. Deserved more attention than it got.

Thanks to all who responded.

I suppose I could do a search and find out if this is available, but does anyone know offhand if the movie ever came out on DVD?

Great movie! The scene that has me laughing hard each time is the one with the Nazi soldiers doing the high step march thingy and their boots fly off...heehee I love it.

Yeah there's a million little laughs in there, from movie in-jokes to (now perhaps dated) references to the Ford Pinto! I had the soundtrack once upon a time, all four songs of it
