In the last few months I've been watching all the Danger Man episodes. I got the 2 A&E mega-sets during the last deepdiscountdvd.com sale and I've been in spy heaven. I'm curious to see the alternate pilot episode which was just released in the UK. Has anyone seen it yet?
I LOVE this show! In fact, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi AKC name is
Abigail Portmeirion's Rover.
(only TRUE Prisoner geeks would "get" it). :D
Those weather balloons used to scare me as a kid - I guess I was afraid of being smothered by one of them!
Next to "The Avengers", one of the greatest shows of the 60's, if not all-time.

My former acting teacher (Michael Billington) was lucky enough to have a small part in an epsiode. The show holds up so well. David Tomblin (writer/director) went on to do some great work with Spielberg, Lucas, etc.

The series is being shown on BBC America, a channel on my satellite. However, they cut it up unmercifully. I guess I'm gonna Phave to spring for the DVD's. I've turned my son into a Prisoner fanatic....
I am not a number......

This is one of the greats. incredible to watch in the true order. And to think this was a summer replacement series (for CBS in the US Market)! Woo-Hoo.

By "true order" do you mean in order as they were broadcast, or the "preferred" semi-chronological Six-of-One order?

I usually drag out this old avatar for special forum occasions a couple of times a year. Makes me miss the posts from Number Six however. :shake:

Very nice article. Thanks for posting Todd. Love this show. I have the box set on my wish list. If Deep Discount DVD does have another holiday sale, I may go for it.

Oh, and which Beatles song was featured near the end of the final episode?

I think it was "All You Need is Love."

I wonder if any of you Prisoner fans have the comic book. It was in print in the late 80's and there were six issues. I knew a Prisoner fanatic at the time that let me know. I think I have three of the issues, the're pretty cool.

Yep, I have it (them actually, as it was a mini-series). It isn't really set in "Prisoner time" as much as in modern day, with someone visiting the island/getting imprisoned, even though the island is now abandoned. Number 6 makes a brief cameo but is not featured in the storyline.
Along the same lines, has anyone picked up the new Varese soundtrack CDs? I have the first 2 of this 3 CD set. Gets to be a bit repetitive but worth having if you're a big Prisoner fan.

I've got one (the first one I think) agreed on your review, but it's worth what I paid ($4.99) for the crazy "A,B & C" soundtrack
