Hey fellas,

For those of you who have never interacted with one before, I'm what they call a woman. And as you can probably tell from my user name, I'm what you'd call a take-charge kind of gal. Here's hoping there's room on this forum for an opinionated female like myself. But don't be afraid: My bark is much worse than my bite.

I would like to begin my SH forum experience by singing the praises of a woman named Teresa Caffin, who did the wonderful remastering on my favorite Bonnie Raitt CD, "Give It Up." Though the remaster is Rhino-associated, it doesn't bear the trademark Rhino excessive treble. It just sounds warm and natural as can be, and much better than the old CD.

Anyone know of other CDs remastered by Ms. Caffin, or any other women engineers?

I hope you aren't a troll, but welcome! I love different points of view!

There are many women enguneering stuff but none really come to mind at the moment except Susan Rogers, one of Prince's engineers. Then there's Judy Clapp.

Grant,

What do you mean by troll? Is that a comment about my looks?

Also, what Prince CDs did Susan Rogers work on? And who is Judy Clapp?

1999
Controversy
Purple Rain
Parade
The Family
Around The World In A Day
Wendy & Lisa
Romance 1600-Sheila E

Concerning Purple Rain: It was recorded in an airport hangar with everything leaking like no tomorow! She just didn't have too much control over the sound. But, that's what Prince wanted, I guess.

Thank you, Grant.

By the way, on your sign-off you spelled the word "independent" incorrectly. Maybe you meant to do that for some reason?

Welcome to the forum!

There was a thread about female engineers (http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3593&highlight=women). There's some joking around, but keep reading, there's interesting info, too.

Welcome to the board, Ma'am. I, for one, look forward to your views from the Top.
