Now THAT'S a blast from my childhood - I haven't even thought of this show for almost 30 years. Maybe it's time to get a DVD player....

I saw this in Best Buy the other day! I thought about getting it...

I thought I once read somewhere that Doug and Amy-Jo really hated each other, and Doug had a real problem with Freddie.

Yes, the girl was very attractive. I remember seeing a rerun on the Public Access Christian channel a few years ago and thinking.....'My Gosh that guy (Doug?) certainly looks like a porn star!'

I think I'll skip the DVD set, but I do have fond memories of watching this in preschool circa 1973.

I hope Emmy Jo didn't turn into a crack whore; hopefully she's a librarian or something. Haven't seen her on anything since. :)

Oh no - here we go again with Emmy Jo Peden lust! She married Doug (egads!) and they run a production company these days... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Zoo_Revue

I know it won't be on the box set but there is an outtake from this show,
that is fall on the floor can't stop laughing funny.

It involves the Owl and Frog discovering they are both gay, I can't say more. . .
this being a "family-friendly" board and also I don't want to spoil it for
anyone coming across a copy of the outtake.

Its on various "blooper" collections.

Hearing the reaction of the crew is priceless.

Freddy's rejoinder to Charlie's offer is too much:
"How about two!"

BTW this 1st season set can be picked up for only $19.99 at most Half Price Books stores. They carry most Brentwood boxed sets new for half retail. The picture quality is about par for Brentwood and there's no time coding, but at all 59 episodes (24 hours!) it's still a bargain.

Hmmmmm. I've got a 1 year old daughter. I just might take a chance and pick this up just to see if it holds her interest. I'm getting sick of watching that Dora the Explorer tape over and over again.
