Extended cable or satellite subscribers take note: Starting tonight, BBC America will finally be showing the two special episodes of "The Office" that aired over the holidays in the UK last year. They will be airing them back to back in a 2-hour time slot. The first airing is at 9:00, but they will be re-airing it many times over the next week or so. This and "Arrested Development" are my two favorite comedies on television today (I don't know what the fact that they are both shot like faux documentaries means - but maybe I'm unduly fond of Spinal Tap). I am both excited to finally see these episodes, and saddened that they are the last we will see of the Wernam-Hogg gang.
They'll also be out on R1 DVD next month.

I'll buy the box set next month for sure. What a great series.
Wish I got BBC America on my cable system....I seem to get everything else.

Yeah, me too. My cable system gets everything but the cool channels and a clear picture. :)
Ricky Gervais was on David Letterman the other night. Very entertaining guy. Letterman ranked THE OFFICE up there with SEINFELD and NEWHART, a most agreeable comparison. I feel sorry for my friends who haven't seen it yet because I won't loan them my dvds. I can't stop watching them. :D

So what did you think of the special? In the words of David Brent, I thought it was brilliant.

It was a fitting end to the series. I would have watched it just for the various blind dates that Brent went on, but everything else was brilliant, too. Tim's new "cubemate" was a great addition as a foil to draw out his priceless reaction shots. :)

Yeah, more great stuff, as expected.
They've already got this out on dvd, along with a "super-duper" all-inclusive pkg, including both seasons + this special and some other extras.
Dem BBC boys got some mkt mojo, too.

I loved when David calls the girl from his car and brags that he was on the office documentary and she says "you're not that horrible boss, are you?". The line somehow goes dead after that :D

My dvd of the Special arrived Friday. Great ending to the series.
Music question: Does anyone know the titles of two songs that play towards to then, one by Take That (I think -- Robbie Williams' old group) as Dawn is leaving and the other that's playing as she returns?
