When I picked up my "Tom & Jerry" DVD this morning, I noticed a rebate sticker on the front ... "Buy any 2 Warner Home Video Cartoon Classics DVD sets and get $10 back by mail or buy any 3 and get $15 back by mail ... offer expires 2/7/05" ...

According to an Amazon link, the offer covers at least 13 titles including the following titles ...

Looney Tunes - The Spotlight Collection - Volume 1

which are due out on Nov. 2nd ...

It's not clear whether or not "The Spotlight Collection" is the budget edition of a portion of "The Golden Collection - Vol. 2" ... but I suspect it is ...

You are correct, Spotlight Collection is the second two discs of Golden Collection, Volume 2. They did a similar deal with Golden Collection, Volume 1, releasing the last two DVD's in that set as the Premiere Collection.

Ahhhhh - since that Golden set #2 is on my to buy list this just makes things more swell!

BTW, I think it is safe to say the spotlight collection is a "subset" of the Gold Collection Volume 2, but even if it reproduces the titles on two discs, it will not, apparently, have the extras.
