Anyone seen "Team America - World Police" yet? I've heard
mixed things about it but I don't think anyone has weighed
in on it so far.
Haven't seen it yet myself, but it looks pretty funny from the 1 or 2 previews I've seen.

I saw it on Saturday. It's very funny, but also politically incorrect to the extreme. I find that puppets can get away with more than humans could, but it still relied a bit too heavily on gay jokes for me. Some terrific musical numbers, and Kim Jong Il should get an Oscar nomination for best supporting marionette! (I could hardly breathe from laughing during the scene between Kim and Hans Blix. )

My son saw it on saturday and he said it was hilarious and very politically incorrect, he said every major liberal star in hollywood get skewered. I think I'll see a matinee for 4.50
I'm really looking forward to seeing it myself, as not only am I a fan of South Park, but as you can tell by my avatar, of Supermarionation as well.

A big disappoinment for me. I thought the trailer was hilarious and the idea of it really appealed to me... but the movie quickly ran out of gas.

Depiste its anti-PC bent, I LOVED "Team America." I haven't laughed so hard in weeks. (You know, where you start wheezing and no sound comes out.) I think its a worthy sucessor--and even tops--Parker and Stone's animated South Park movie. My favorite surreal moment: the song and sequence to "Montage!" Hey, I was a film minor in college and appreciate the in-joke humor! I have more favorite scenes in the movie, but don't want to post any spoilers!
Cheers,
Kevin

I didn't think it was as consistently funny as South Park:BLU, but, like others here, there were moments where I was doubled up with laughter, my sides aching.
Definitely worth a matinee price, if only so you don't have all the jokes ruined for you by the time it comes out on DVD.

Well then aren't you the lucky one to have us here to remind you! :)
Remember if you stop laughing then the terrorist win.

I thought it was a war *on* Terror. Every war is a war *of* terror.
Just a friendly Gort reminder of no politics please.

I thought the movie was hilarious in spots, somewhat slow in others -- like many comedies really. But I'm a big fan of this type of humor so enjoyed the movie very much, especially the skewering of several public figures.
What's amazing to me is all the work that must have gone in to making and moving all the puppets. The stupid puppets make the movie that much funnier.

My favorite surreal moment: the song and sequence to "Montage!"
This was used before in the South Park episode where the boys and their families take a ski weekend in Aspen. The A-plot was a spoof of 80s teen movies. Stan undergoes a ski montage using the same song. (this is one of my favorite episodes)

Haven't seen it or heard about it here in Switzerland, but this may be some kind of a remake of the British 60's "Thunderbirds"...

Yes, sort of. But don't confuse it with the real remake of Thunderbirds that came out a couple of months back. That ironically didn't use puppets. ;)

But did you see the movie?
I do not want to see the movie. And yes I meant war of terror. And no, I am not mentioning any politics. I am sure it is funny and innovative. While the movie studios are at it, let them make an MGM-style musical about the war, or how about Freddy and Jason vs. Osama, I'm sure those would be entertaining too.

I heard it runs out of steam, too, but it still seems irresistable. And from what I understand, there's plenty of jabs at everyone on both sides of the political spectrum. A bit that I heard on NPR was extremely funny.

I am not a South Park fan. (Although I stop at the South Park Texaco on my way to Crested Butte)
But I did see the movie. I thought it was pretty darn funny. I also thought the montage bit was fantastic.

Finally got to see it. First time I've cried at a movie since "Born Free"
at 9 years old. It's that funny if you you're sick of Hollywood blockbusters,
current Broadway musicals, actor/activists, and appreciate the "South Park"
take on the War on Terror...
