Your discography here says you did the mastering on Razor & Tie's "Awesome 80s" CD. I cannot find your name anywhere in the packaging though.

I've noticed the violin intro to "Come On Eileen" is missing, and some songs use the 7" version instead of the longer album version.

Did you really master this collection or are there two pressings? I'm really curious about "Eileen" though.

Thanks for any info you can share. This was the first thing I got when I went on my 80s nostalgia trip some years ago.

I did a bunch of those albums, but if "I Ran" is on there, I DIDN'T do the package.

Can you check?

The LP version of "Come On Eileen" does not have the violin at the beginning. Whoever did the package most likely pulled the LP master.

I don't really feel like checking right now but I don't recall if the single had it. I don't even remember if I dumped it.

No, "I Ran" is not on this collection. "Awesome 80s" is a two-disc set. "I Ran" appears on another R&T title "Back to the 80s".

It would be a little unusual for the 7" version to have an intro not present on the LP version, but if that's how it was then so be it. I could always grab the violin intro off another disc if I need the song for anything.

I dunno then. I might have done it, but I would have used whatever sources Razor & Tie supplied for me.

They might have forgot to put my name on it I guess...

Yeah, it was the MTV age, where they would add things to the video version and leave the single as originally produced.

With Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", I guess one could take a snippet off the LP track "She's So Unusual" and tag it onto the beginning of "Girls...".

Just for confirmation: I have both the Dutch single and Album version of Come on Eileen, and Grant is right the violin is only on the SIngle version. The album version has a different (longer) ending as well.
It might be that not having enough room on the LP is the reason why the violin is left out.
