I searched the archives and couldn't find this one.

My wife got the the Special Edition of Reservior Dogs for Fathers Day. Such is my life that I just got around to watching it.

SPOLIER ALERT: during the "mexican standoff" who shoots Chris Penn? No gun is pointed at him.

I searched the web recently after watching the movie trying to get an answer.

The best I could find from a couple of interviews was that nobody did and they didn't have time to reshoot.

Here's ONE PAGE (http://www.slipups.com/items/2146.html) with a bunch of theories. I ran into an interview with Quentin Tarantino somewhere that addressed this issure, but can't find it again.

I've seen this movie a bunch of times. I can't believe I never noticed no one was pointing at him.

Look at the the scene again...I'm positive that it's pretty clear that 'Mr. White' shoots both the Penn 'nice guy' and father 'Joe' characters (shoots at Joe first and immediatley turns the gun to nice guy, who also shoots) though its not really apparent whether 'Mr.Orange', the guy already on the floor, gets shot again by Joe. (I assume he doesn't...)

I saw an interview with QT? I think. And I thought I heard Him admit to an error in that scene. Bad editing? Poor coverage when shooting the scene? It might have been another principal involved in the production though. (Harvey Keitel?) Just a vague memory. Hope this helps.. RE

P.S. Before he was infamous, around 11 years ago, I am told QT used to live in my 27 unit condo bldg. here in Hermosa Beach, CA. I was here but never met him. Wish I had, we could have kicked around a lot of movie stories. RE

Imdb says Chris Penn's squib went off early and Mr. White was the one who shot him.
