Video Clarifier ?

Tried to burn some of my Universal horror VHS tapes to DVD-R and the player won't let me.
I understand that a video clarifier would take care of that...could someone recommend one that would do the trick? Thanks...oh, I have a Sony VCR and a Pioneer DVD burner.

Funny thing is I have no trouble burning Laserdiscs or Universal DVDs(I have an Apex player) only the VHS...Thanks again.

So Macrovision's your problem? You could attempt to borrow a DVD-R that doesn't recognize Macrovision (or, similarly, find a VHS player that does the same thing).

I think what you're looking for is actually called a video *stabilizer*.
