No, I didn't do that one. That was done by Steve McDonald in 1986.

What do you mean by the "new DCC Blow Out" website ?

I see nothing on their sight indicating this. Can you provide an alternate URL ?

Hi Blair,
Here's the announcement from the "Classified Section" here in the Steve Hoffman Forum.
Enjoy

dccblowout.com is here! With a bonus discount for forum members.

Well, the site seems to be up and running.

Please feel free to contact me directly or here on the forum with any thoughts you may have for improving it. The software has a great many limitations, as I've come to learn, but it's cheap and easy to use, so that's why it is the way it is.

FORUM MEMBERS DISCOUNT

There are healthy discounts already in place, but Forum members can add this one to the list:

Spend at least $50 and you may then take $5 off any one DCC aluminum CD priced at $5 or more (making your order at least $55.) Just use the coupon code "Forum", (not in quotes of course.)

Since you can only use one coupon per order, and the discounts for orders above $100 also involve coupons, you can email me with the item you would like to save $5 on and I will make sure you get a $5 refund in your shipment. (It's all very complicated because of the software, but there's nothing I can do about until they make it more flexible.)

Sounds a little confusing but it all boils down to five bucks off any disc over $5 that you would like, as long as you meet the minimum.

So check it out and let me know what you think!

Best,
TP

The gold CDs and vinyl and all the rest are on their way so watch for them down the road.

Thanks for the info, sure wish I'd known about it sooner.

There is a May 26 update stating that the sealed section is gone, cutouts remaining only. Is a cut out literally that? A hole or burn mark through the case?

I don't mind this as long as the cover and tray card aren't damaged. I can always replace the jewel box. Anyone have experience with this ?

Thanks

Hi Blair,
A "cut out" usually has a saw mark:a line cut into the jewel case on either (Spine)side. On occasion the saw mark doesn't go all the way through to the tray card. Other times all the way through and cuts into the tray card!(Ouch!)
A "drill hole" or "burn hole" is usually through the rear jewel case UPC code area into the tray card.
Then there is the" punch hole" only through the UPC code on the tray card. The outer Jewel case is unmarked.

And there's also the small drill hole in the upper right hand corner which usually goes right through the booklet and back flap. I've only seen this one on MFSL's.;)

<< On the New Dccblowout website there's a listing for Judy Garland America's Treasure Dcc CD. >>

Judy Garland: AMERICA'S TREASURE is an odd release. Studio recordings from 1960 assembled with overdubbed applause so that the CD appears to be a live performance. A couple of monologues from the soundtrack of Garland's 1963-64 TV series were added to further the illusion.
