I was on Red Trumpet's site recently and noticed a preorder for The Who's
Quadrophenia on LP. I was just curious as to any information on this release, the
sound, source, etc., etc. I hate to drop money on something I don't know
much about.

It seems that most of the Universal German 120-180 grm LP's are quite good. But how about Quadrophenia?. For me this concept album is the best Who.
I have the Japan Remaster (remix?) CD which in my system is a lot better than the MCA CD. But I searched for a original Track UK LP without luck.

I too would be curious about the sound quality of this new pressing as it is one of my favorite lps as well. I have the German Polydor pressing as part of the Phases box set but don't have anything else to compare it too. I guess we'll have to wait until someone buys it and can report back to us. Stay tuned....

I prefer the remix over the original mix. The original Track vinyl always sounded as though Keith's cymbals were shrieking at me. Very fatiguing. The remix reduces that somewhat. The Japanese copy of the remix is supposed to be the best version on CD. See the following site for very comprehensive and accurate comments on the sound of The Who's albums
