The British version was a pale imitation of the American release. Give us some credit, eh? I worked on the DCC release of "Wheels Of Fire", both sound and recreating the artwork, every day, for four months straight. Are you telling me I should have just used the crappy gray British cover and be done with it?

Not in the least. I just didn't know the history of the recording, thus I asked. I own your DCC "Wheels of Fire" and love it thoroughly. I always appreciate your attention to detail, I hope you can understand my not knowing all the details.

Of course, of course. I didn't mean to sound "snappy" last night.

"Wheels Of Fire" is just an album that was (is) near and dear to my heart for many reasons. I guess I'm a bit touchy on the subject.

Of course it didn't help my brain that I spent all day yesterday trying to do an acceptable 45 RPM cutting of "Susie Q" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Over and over and over..... And we couldn't even eat at my favorite Mexican dive next to RTI: El Tecolote. It was CLOSED! How dare they.....

BTW, the reason "Susie Q" is SOOOOOO hard to cut, is that it is totally left and right information. Nothing down the middle. Tough to cut so that mortals can play it back without mistracking.

Finally did an acceptable cut today though....

Next song!

:)

Your vinyl releases are going to be 45 rpm?

The Creedence LP's are for Acoustic Sounds' Analogue Productions.

They will be 33 1/3 RPM, but several of them will have a 45 RPM bonus disc in them. I don't think Chad has decided which ones yet....

Why do the 45s sound better than 33s? eh

Steve,

Sorry to hear you struggle so much. This is indeed "labor of love". You vinyl lovers out there better get your acts together this time!

Have you considered inviting both Messrs. John Fogerty and Saul Zaentz over? They could be of great help.

Hey Steve,

Happy Tuesday!

I'm sure you've answer this question a million times, but when will your CCR re-master be available?

Is El Tecolote like "out of business closed, or you were working late?
:o

Steve, I still have several 12 inch 45 RPM stereo records in my collection. The claims were that they were better. One, of dircect to disk sitar music is one of the best sounding recordings in my collection, too bad it is showing the ravages of time. Advent issued a Chrome Dioxide Dolby B cassette of this at one time, but it does not do justice to that 45. ;)
