Why is it disturbing? It might be good. The Wayans brothers are good moviemakers, producers, and writers.
OTOH, they will certainly dumb it down a bit for the teenagers...

I think you answered your own question. BTW, I agree that the Wayans are good moviemakers, producers, and writers. I guess I'm just tired of movie versions of TV shows. ie Flintstones, Addams Family, blah, blah, blah, blah....

Ditto. And most of the resulting movies are mediocre or worse.
At this point, it seems like the only 60s or 70s TV show that hasn't been made into a movie is...When Things Were Rotten.

..and The Kallikaks...
I heard this on a local TV station today!
...give it a 21st century makeover.
This sorta worries me. The Addams Family movies had the original Charles Addams cartoons to "fall back" on. I think the movies are closer to the original catoons than the TV series.
What will they do to The Munsters? Modernize it? Well, it might work... as long as they have a clear direction and image of what they want to do. IMO, movies like this fail when they try to hang on to the past and also try to become modern.
But they have a good track record so maybe it'll be a great movie! :)

Wait. Didn't Mel Brooks redo his own show with MEN IN TIGHTS?

I agree. WTWR was good. Men In Tights, except where they sing the title song, was disappointing.

My favorite line from WTWR...actually, the only one I still can remember...was when one of the characters thought he was dying, and another character claimed he would soon meet his maker...and the first guy looks up to the heavens and yells: Get ready, Mel. I'm coming!!"

With Madonna as the voice of the 1928 Porter.
