Season 2 box set comes out on Aug 31st and they finally did it right unlike Season 1 where the shows were spread throughout 8 or 9 discs and sold separately.
This set is only 5 discs. Why this news below is from a year and ahlf ago is beyond me but the listing is up in Amazon.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone (in the USA at least...Canadians had their Thanksgiving back on Oct. 13th). As a Turkey Day treat for you, we have something that Paramount made available just last night: cover art for I Love Lucy - The Complete 2nd Season !
As we reported a year ago, Paramount decided that after the completion of the first season of DVDs, they would switch from single-disc releases to full season sets. All 31 original Season Two episodes are presented on 5 DVDs. One of Lucy's own hilarious favorites, "Job Switching" (the one with the candy-wrapping on the fast conveyor belt) was the premiere episode aired for this season, and gets featured prominently on the cover.
Of course, the highlight of the second season was Lucy's pregnancy and subsequent birth to Little Ricky, but there are plenty of other great moments here: the introduction of neighbor Mrs. Trumble, the return of Pepito The Clown (who first appeared in the unaired pilot), Ricky singing the lyrics to the show's theme song, a crazy camping trip, and culminating with the infamous tug-of-war over the washing machine.
Here's a complete disc-by-disc rundown of the episodes in this set:
Disc 1: "Job Switching", "The Saxophone", "The Anniversary Present", "The Handcuffs", "The Operetta", "Vacation from Marriage", and "The Courtroom".
Disc 2: "Redecorating", "Ricky Loses His Voice", "Lucy is Enceinte", "Pregnant Women Are Unpredictable", "Lucy's Showbiz Swan Song", and "Lucy Hires An English Tutor".
Disc 3: "Ricky Has Labor Pains", "Lucy Becomes A Sculptress", "Lucy Goes to the Hospital", "Sales Resistance", "The Inferiority Complex", and "The Club Election".
Disc 4: "The Black Eye", "Lucy Changes Her Mind", "No Children Allowed", "Lucy Hires a Maid", "The Indian Show", and "Lucy's Last Birthday".
Disc 5: "The Ricardos Change Apartments", "Lucy is Matchmaker", "Lucy Wants New Furniture", "The Camping Trip", "Ricky and Fred Are TV Fans", and "Never Do Business With Friends".
One person, Brian Weber, who has gotten Disc #2 already from his Columbia House "Lucy Club" subscription, told us that "Extras are the same as they have been, but...they have inserted the middle animated commercial intro in 5 out of the 6 episodes on the disc, which are way cool." Our thanks to Brian for this info. Columbia House is sending these to subscribers individually, and has already shipped #2 to most everyone. #1 is backordered, and they have to make more copies of it. Volumes 3 & 4 go to CH subscribers in December, and #5 in January. These ought to be the same content as the Paramount release, which bundles these together into a single box set, at what ought to be a nice price.
Paramount hasn't officially announced the supplements, pricing, or street date for their package yet, though we very much expect it to release in February. We owe our thanks to Thomas Watson of Lucyfan.com for many of the details that we DO have so far. Stay tuned right here, and we'll have more for you when it becomes available. Enjoy the holiday!
