View Full Version : Association: Just the Right Sound
Just a heads-up that the British version of the Rhino Association set deletes a number of the tracks from past the group's heyday included on the US release for others from its prime years, including an unlisted bonus backing track for Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies. Shades of Hard Day's Night, Help and Rubber Soul-just like in the 60s, I'm forced to send to England for imports in order to get the full stuff!

Explain? Isn't Rhino just a US entity?!?!?!

It's advertised (and reviewed) in the Stone Roses issue of Mojo as being on Rhino/WEA. I suspect that Rhino has gone from the beloved US-only reissue label to become yet another imprint of WEA thanks to the same wonderful folks at Time-AOL that have essentially ended Rhino Handmade.
In addition to the backing track to Pandora's, the British version also has a second unreleased track from 1966 dating from, I suspect, the first album sessions. Strange that the British version would differ from the US, since the Association was virtually unknown in the UK.

From where would one get this/get the detailed tracklisting? All online places seem to use the one I'm familiar with.

The UK/Euro version drops the following tracks:
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
It'll Take A Little Time (Larry Ramos)
Darling Be Home Soon
Names, Tags, Numbers And Labels
Carry On (Bijou)
One Sunday Morning
And adds the following tracks:
Changes
I'm The One
Reputation
Here In Here
Rose Petal, Incense And A Kitten
Caney Creek (previously unreleased)
It's Gotta Be Real
Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies (instrumental) (this is track 28 on disc
one, and is not listed on the package.)
This is from a posting on the Spectropop board, which is a terrific source of 60s music information, often firsthand from the artists and producers themselves.
Hope this helps- I'm debating whether to spring for the British one.
