This just came out today on Sanctuary. A nice full show from 1982. Has most of the "Utopia" album, but also some classics. One of the best performances of Caravan I've ever heard. You can tell it's from video.
But the best part is the bonus section. New 30 minute interviews with all four members. Some neat insights of the band. I was surprised to see Roger Powell sporting long hair and a goatee.
Recommended to Todd and Utopia fans.

Thanks, Jonathan!
I pre-ordered from B&N and should have it in a day or two. Early reviews suggested the video was quite grainy. It's a shame the MCA/VHS-released version of this tour, An Evening with Utopia, hasn't been digitized. That was one great show!!
Todd's apparently mixing the audio for a DVD video release of his new "Liars" tour. The DVD-A of the album itself is quite nice, IMO.

I think this is a better show than An Evening With Utopia. The band sounds more on, particularly with the vocals. The mix is upfront and dry.

I can't stop watching this DVD. I was never a big fan of the Utopia album, but seeing them do it live, and the obvious enjoyment they're having playing the material, has hooked me.

Is it s real 5.1 mix or is it a "fake"?

'Tis a fake. In fact, I bounced between the 2 channel and 5.1, settling on the 2. Not a great deal of separation on the disc at all, but the performance is indeed stellar and the interviews are very good.

I've also settled on the 2-channel as well. I don't have a multi-speaker setup, but usually a 5.1 will give nice depth and separation even on my two speakers, but not on this one.
