Acoustic Sounds OJC Reissues

I recently purchased three of the acoustic sounds OJC reissues. Johnny Griffin "The Gentle Giant" was very noisy on tracks two and three of side one. The others were pretty quiet. Is classic records the only one using the Quiex vinyl formula? I don't make a habit of sending records back, but this one is unacceptable.:mad:

Don't know about the OJC reissues. I have the first 2LP set of Kind of Blue and Time Out. In both cases the Quiex reissues seem noisier than the first issues.

My understanding is that all pressings from RTI are using the same "Quiex" formulation; Classic just jumped on it for marketing purposes.
