I thought I'd start a weekly post of a Top 10 chart. Each week I'll try to find a year in which the month has the same Saturday date as the current week. This week's Top 10 is from Jan. 26, 1974.

1. You're Sixteen................................. .........................Ringo Starr
2. Show And Tell.................................... ..........................Al Wilson
3. The Way We Were.................................... ....Barbara Streisand
4. I've Got To Use My Imagination..........Gladys Knight & The Pips
5. The Joker................................... .....................Steve Miller Band
6. Love's Theme................................... ..Love Unlimited Orchestra
7. Smokin' In The Boy's Room..........................Brownsvill e Station
8. Let Me Be There................................... .......Olivia Newton-John
9. Time In A Bottle.................................. ........................Jim Croce
10. Americans............................... ........................Byron MacGregor

I chose this week simply because as I said, the date corresponds with yesterday's date. It's interesting that there are three titles that can be found on Steve Hoffman re-mastered discs.
I think it may also be interesting to some of the younger members of the forum to see how diverse the radio playlists were before station programer's began narrow-casting to specific demographics.
Let me know whether or not you like the idea of this chart. If the general consensus is that I'm wasting server disc space, I'll stop it and find some other way to waste 30 minutes. And don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings, I'm good at this.

Dave B,

I think it's a great idea!:D

Maybe you could add a red check mark or something to show that it has been "Hoffmanized".;)

So what do Steve and our Zoo keeper think?

I love the idea! Don't worry about server disc space, we have 20 gig to fill up.

Great Idea!! Reminds me of some songs that I really love but haven't played in awhile. I'll be hunting the stacks over the next couple of days.

Maybe we should make the top ten list into a poll... Vote for the ones you'd like to see "Hoffmanized" :p

Great fun! Thanks DaveB!

I wonder if Steve mastered any of those for 8-track?

Brownsville Station covered the Crue?

(Zoo: how do I do an umlaut in this thing?)
