View Full Version : Let It Be???
I know Let It Be gets dumped on especially when compared to Abbey Road, but Iv'e always liked it. Is the MoFi the best LP version out there? What about the import CDs? Anyone have any thoughts?

"Let It Be" won't sound any better on CD imports, or any worse. I like the EAS JPN LP of the record, but I think it's because it's a very quiet pressing. I've never heard a pressing of "Let It Be" that floored me.
Again, "Let It Be" for me includes the Twinkenham sessions and the rooftop incident. Many of the recordings made there AND the Glyn Johns "Get Back" is much more entertaining than Phil Spector's production. There are exceptions, tho...!

The Beatles' worst is still better than many other groups' best. There's plenty to like in that album.
The only Let it Be's I have experience with are the stock CD, the UK reissue LP that's part of the blue "Beatles Collection" box set, a purple-label US Capitol, and the Japanese EAS Sckott mentions.
Personally I like the one from the UK box set best. But the only thing wrong with the Japanese is the tiny touch of brightness that plagues most of the Japanese EAS Beatle platters.
