Love Frijid Pink! There was a German CD out a while back: Frijid Pink Repertoire REP 4156-WZ. I believe it was mastered from vinyl! Not sure if it's still in print?
I remember first hearing "House Of The Rising Sun" and thinking "Wow"! HEAVY! LOL!
Those were the day's. Something always exciting.

Check out the AKARMA Frigid Pink reissues....especially "Live at Grande Ballroom".
Early Dick Wagner.

I believe they have a vinyl issue of it also.

Here's a link to it...

mikenyc,

The "Live At The Grande Ballroom" CD that you recommend is by the Detroit group The Frost, not Frigid Pink. They were two entirely different groups; but you were right that Dick Wagner was the lead guitarist in The Frost.

trilogia,

According to Amazon.UK, it appears that The Pink Fairies' first three LPs with bonus tracks, are being reissued later this month. If you are interested in the band, I would check out their first LP, "Never Never Land", and see how you like that. IMO, it is the band's defining moment.

The Pink Fairies were one of the great lost bands of the british underground. I guess one of their claims to fame was that Larry Wallis was their guitar player for their last album KINGS OF OBLIVION (he was the original guitarist for Motohead before Fast Eddie came in). They originaly grew out of the Deviants a UK group that featured the talents of Mick Farren. I can whole heartly recommend their 1st and 2nd LP's Never, Never Land and Just a Bunch of Sweeties. All three of their albums were issued in Japan on CD around 1990 and went quickly out of print. There is also a UK Best of that includes the best tracks from their first three album plus some singles only cuts (ie The Snake). A must find is also their extended version of Uncle Harry's Last Freakout/Do It. This originally appeared on the 3 LP Glastonbury set that came out in 74' and has been reissued on The Underground Years 69-71.

Ok someone get the hash pipe out.

Gee, you never know who'll pop up around here on the wayback machine. I was into Frijid Pink when they came out, but they kinda came and went pretty fast. Their first album was best, then came Defrosted, which was ok. Seems like they had others but I've never heard them. Here is the sheetmusic cover to one of their lesser known hits, a cover of "Heartbreak Hotel". I also have the matching music book that covers their first album. Look carefully at the lower left side and you will see a burn-hole where one of the seeds exploded out of my...ahh cigarette. ;)
