I am interested in two titles in particular....only because they need to be improved sonically.
I think Steve has spoken about the poor sound on the Chicago II album, but I can't recall any words from him on the Raspberries first one...
Woulda remaster from Steve do the trick on these two or would we need a Ron Furmanek/Steve Kolanjian remix job?
(I know, I know, "Don't change history")  :D

IMHO I'd keep Ron Furmanek 10,000 miles away from the masters.
Would love to see what Steve could do with all 4 Raspberries titles. Two 2 fers maybe?
I just love Chicago's early work! But I believe these are all owned by Sony now and I don't think Steve will be able to do any.... :(
I understand that there may be some Chicago SACDs coming out this spring-ish. I hope they sound OK........
I should check the Sony website!

Ron Furmanek/Steve Kolanjian...I thought those names would raise some neck hair...
Yes, John, two-fers would be nice!

If I am not mistaken, Sony no longer owns the rights to the pre-Warner albums. They are now owned by Chicago and released by Chicago Records. I also heard a rumor that James William Guercio has/owns the master tapes and will not give them back. I believe I read that at the Chicago website. CHICAGO II is probably one of the worst sounding albums I have ever heard. No bass... no highs... lots of mid. It would really take the ears of someone like Steve to work his magic. I would buy that in a second!!!
Chicago II is my favorite album by them.
I have the 4 Raspberries albums on 2 two-fer CD's on a label out of the UK called RPM.

Yeah I've got the RPM Raspberies two-fers from England. They're probably the best stuff out there yet. I realize their stuff wasn't really recorded with audiophiles in mind (more like AM radio) but I'm bettin' they could sound alot better Hoffmanized.
Excellent liner notes on those RPM CD's by the way.
