I was just wondering if anyone else has tried the Later ... With Jools Holland DVD's. So far there are 4 out with a 5th coming June 22. They each have a great selection of artists covering all sorts of music.
Titles released so far are
10 Years Of Later - Features REM, Verve, Coldplay,Radiohead,Hives, Paul Weller etc
Later..Louder - Features Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica, Sonic Youth, B.R.M.C. etc.

All 4 are highly recommended (About 30 tracks each)

I have these DVDs - some of the titles are slighlty different here in the UK (Plus there are more disks available over here :) ) I think our Later... Giants is the same as your Later... Legends - the track list is below and I agree they are highly recommended. I went to the filming of a number of Jools shows every other week for a year ot two - always very entertaining and he does manage to mingle with some reasonable artists ;) :D Well you decide :)
1. Paul McCartney - Brown Eyed Handsome Man
2. Joe Strummer - London Calling
3. Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues
4. The Pretenders - Kid
5. Dr John - Creole Moon
6. Bryan Ferry - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?
7. Georgie Fame - Yeh Yeh
8. Patti Smith - Because The Night
9. Leonard Cohen - Dance Me To The End Of Love
10. Paul Weller - A Town Called Malice
11. Al Green - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?
12. Ronnie Spector And The Divine Comedy - Don't Worry Baby
13. Willie Nelson - She Is Gone
14. Elvis Costello - (I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea
15. Dusty Springfield - Where Is A Woman To Go
16. Robbie Williams - Suspicious Minds
17. Solomon Burke - Cry To Me
18. Tom Jones - Crazy Arms
19. Jeff Beck - Brush With The Blues
20. Page And Plant - Gallows Pole
21. Pete Townshend - Magic Bus

I wish they would put these out in the US !!! The Canadian imports go for about $35, and I know if WB/BBC ever put these out in America, they'd be about $15-$20 . But the line-ups on the DVDs look so damn good

Actually Amazon.ca sells them for a 1/2 decent price ($28 - $29 Canadian funds). The new Later... Cool Britannia (out next week) is priced at $23 Canadian). I am sure they ship to the USA.

Actually, the Cool Britannia disc came out yesterday (saw it at HMV in Toronto). And yes, amazon.ca ship to the US. Even with shipping, you'll still be within the $15-$20 US window.

I have :
10 Years of Later
Later... Louder
Later... Giants (Legends)
and the new one Cool Britannia. The quality of the video on Cool Britannia is very poor, lots of artifacts. The video quality on the first three was very good so I'm not sure what happened here.
The Later DVD's along with those of the Old Grey Whistle Test make up a great treasure trove of rock\pop\soul\blues etc on TV. Well worth getting.
