i was wondering which CCR album to get as i am doing some ordering from red trumpet today. i was thinking of getting two of them one is cosmo's factory but i'm not sure of the other one. i've always enjoyed CCR but usually in a greatest hits format hence the need for help over which album to purchase.
don't say all of them as i am also purchasing led zep - physical graffiti by classic and that costs a bomb.

Bayou Contry and Cosmos Factory. At least that's what I'm goin' for.
To be honest, I can't live without just two CCR titles. I'll miss "Pagan Baby" or "Suzie Q"...
But my favorite for a while has been Bayou Contry.

Willy is always at the top of my list.

Always loved Cosmos Factory- it was the first CCR piece I bought as a young wipper-snapper! I LUV my copy of Steve and Kevin's version.
BTW- Steve- the test pressing I have- is there any weight difference between it and final production/shipments? This thing weighs a TON and is THICK.

I'd go with mcow1 as this is the very first time that the first album has been granted the Steve and Kevin touch.

I like your style! I can just feel the groans
coming from that poor JVC tuner. Does it suffer
from mechnical compression? Just kidding...
Seriously, is your Foreplay stock, anticipated,
whispered or anything?

Hey thanks guys. That Dynaco is modded, but I didn't do it (would never do such a thing to a stock model). The amp I got from some nice fellow from Audiogon, said the sucker was dead, so "how's about $80?"; I said sure! Problem? Bad tubes. Blew 3 X $2 fuses. Cheap, but it teed me off.
The tuner was free from a friend who I playfully call "F---in' Brian". He's a nice guy, but sort of like a music leech. "Can I borrow this, can I borrow that?" He found the JVC tuner in the dump. It needed some TLC, so F--in' Brian gave it to me.
Some moron put magic-marker lines on the aluminum face to mark his favorite stations. (Insert groan HERE!) Eeek, another moron in this world! [Not to mention the moron threw this perfectly good analog tuner in the dump. Stupid people finally pay off!] I rubbed for about 2-3 hours using metal polish and goo-gone. It finally came out. Some lights were blown for the 'STEREO' light and the tuning meters as you "steer in" your station. Trip to Radio Shack over and over once again. I have to take it apart again because it lightly squeeks when you tune the dial....which feels heavy and slick. Nice unit! Sensitive too! That orange strand of Cat5 bowing=>right is the antenna. It's all it needs!
The CD player, a mundane 8-bit TEAC bought for $2, dead. This is the one that had the 'dust beard' on it (from other posts I mentioned). Need to readjust the focus-play, because it hates JVC gold Cds. Grr. Works great now.
That's a Pioneer 707, RTR. It auto-reverses, and I haven't found out what kind of tone it uses or how to make it reverse when making a recording. Me thinks the reverse tones are only on the pre-recorded tapes, which sounds like a rusty "squeek". =click=! Some of the Creedence reels I have (I got from TommyTunes) have that auto-reverse noise. Tried re-creating it on my PC. No dice.
The foreplay is unmodded. I don't think I'll be modding it real soon, but who knows? It's very smooth, very enjoyable, simple and inexpensive. Powerful too! Uses those Mullard 12AU7's conservitively! Interconnects are braided Cat5 using both gold and plastic RCA connectors from....you guessed it...Radio Shack! Solid copper double-strands braided twice over. More than enough for sending to the pre. The tuner uses a normal 2-strand CAT5 to RCA plugs. BFD. Wonderful pre. I was sent backwards when I benched it with a Rod Stewart disc. Been spoiled ever since.
On the Dynaco are 4 El-34 Russian Sovtek poppers. They work great. Not to be confused with a Sovtek 5AR4 which went belly up in less than a year. The 5AR4 I'm using is a GE OEM made by Mullard with the hole in the center pin. Yes, kiddies, BIG difference.
On an off note, I recently bought a 5-pack of National EL-34's, made in China ($45). Using them for spare, but boy, they sounded fantastic. Now, if they'll LAST or make the bias swim, that's a whole different thing!
I'll be taking things apart, taking pictures, ect real soon. Stay tuned. My CD collection is covering a whole wall in the basement. When I'm done with shelves and a few things, you'll see how audio-silly I can get. Cheers!
