This is an amazing concert film and the sound is great. Guess my Laser Disc version is about to really drop in value if it had not already.

No one can fault you for that Jeffrey. After all, isn't The Dead experience all about atmosphere anyway? ;) :D

I always thought that we didn't need visable lyrics is because we could close our eyes and the lyrics were visable on the inside of our heads. I would like to see some 2 channel pcm though. Jeff I d/l The Dead's Bonnaroo sets and they are sounding really good. Been a bunch of years since they have been at this level of play. Granted it is only a few nights into the tour but they are busting out something new every night. The Dark Star-> Shine on you Crazy Diamond-> Dark Star from the roo fits who they are these days. Not even going to get into Red Rocks last night. It is not the dead we started listening to as kids but it is the dead of the what now.

Fred, I also have the first VHS release of this film. It is the over sized color glossy box. It looked too cool to trade in to the used store so I kept it around all these years.
But the LD version was the first to use the (slightly) wide screen theater print I believe.
At any rate, its good news about this deluxe DVD of course, but I still feel sad (in a selfish way) that my LD is obsolete. As I feel the LD format is still relevent provided the title is not out on DVD.

Hi Mike,
That's what i meant about not needing visable lyrics but i can never resist a good exchange w/ Jeff H..... good times had by all! :)
Here ya on the 2 channel pcm..... it's not like they don't have a primo master.
Nice to hear the boyz are jellin'! :) Hopefully, the non-music rifts are gone forever and the family is family. It'll forever more be a missing man formation in my mind but it ain't worth wacking yourself over. ;) Please dance a jig for me! :)

Yes, I still have the box and all, but I'll probably hang it on the wall after the dvd comes out. I share your sentiment re: LD, though I never saw The GD Movie on LD.

Jeffrey and Jeff H were attempting to have a little fun. If you're not down with forum witty banter, that's your perogative, but please cease and desist with the thread crapping. If you have any questions, please send me a PM.
Thanks.

Hi cvila,
Ok.... you're not gonna let me babble around the issue. :) Pigs are the "they" in these lyrics:
Busted.. down on Bourbon Street,
Set up.. like a bowling pin,
Knocked down.. it get's to wearing thin,
They just won't let you be!
Take care,
Jeffrey

Yeah, people lets' just mellow out and get into a groove. Jerry Bear and the rest of the boys wouldn't like it if they saw us all uptight and stressed out like this. ;) :D
