View Full Version : How does the Elvis Costello compilation Girls Girls Girls sound?
I think it's actually "Girls + (British pounds) + Girls = $ + Girls."
I know Demon reissued it a few years ago, and I was wondering how it compares to past remasters. Does it sound just like the Ryko/Demon CD's of the mid-90's?
Any help would be appreciated.

IMHO, Girls Girls Girls sounds better than the Rhino releases. It is not up there with the Rykos (parts of the disc sound as if the music is being played through a pillow), but not too shabby. The selection of songs is near impossible to beat. Despite the sound, the disc would have made my top ten if we weren't trying to stay away from compilations. Amazing music.
Hope that helps!

lbangs - Have to agree with you there...up there with the very best compilations in terms of track selection, packaging, the works...shame it wasn't remastered as part of the reissue program. The sound is not a patch on the Demon/Ryko's.
Hey..you could always add it to your Top 10 if you really love it that much...or should we have a Top 10 best compliations list?! Now there's a thought...
