View Full Version : My CD/DVD Player in Domestic Accident...
Alas, disaster struck this last weekend...my little girl accidently tumbled into my hi-fi rack and delivered a hefty thump to both herself and my Pioneer DV626 CD/DVD player...OUCH!
The most important thing is that she was OK...but the Pioneer came off very badly. For the time being I'm reduced to spinning my music on a portable Panasonic unit...ho hum. Repair bill to follow....
The joy of family life v. audiophile pleasures!!!

Repair bill? What are those?
Sounds like the perfect excuse for an upgrade!
Sorry to hear about your little mishap. I know how you feel as my then 2 year old daughter tipped on of my Thiel speakers into the wall. You know the seen as you just turn around to see the thing fall over in slow motion that seems to last about a minute. You reach for it, but no avail. Took off some veneer off the corner, no damage to drivers.
I calmed down over the next week or so and all was forgiven.

At least the REAL important things are ok!
I remember back when Hi-Fi VHS VCR's were stil extremely pricey($500-$700) Yikes! My son and my nephew stuffed chocolate cake inside the unit. Boy was I %^&**@!!
Oh well the joys of parenting
Chris
Thanks Guys,
I appreciate your replies...
I have calmed down now and accept that this stuff happens sometimes.
I must admit the idea of an upgrade as suggested by Pope V does sound appealing....!!!

That's one of the major reason's i have some 200 lb plus racks. Nothing more amusing then watching someone inebrated, bump into the rack and bounce off and nothing moves other then them. Not that I am saying that would work in everyone's settings.
Your milage of course may vary.
