Is "Mystery Dance" on E. Costello's "My Aim Is True" supposed to have a cold end

Everytime I listen to this track on the Rhino CD, something seems off about the way it fades out fast. I remember hearing a cold ending of this song somewhere. Am I imagining things, or does it exist somewhere?

The cold ending was on the Ryko (not Rhino) version of My Aim Is True. I always thought the cold ending sounded wrong. I know that the original US vinyl and CD (both Columbia) had the song fade out. I lived with that fade until the Ryko box came out in the 90's. I don't know which ending was on the original UK release (anybody?).
