I have always been a fan of the Doors through their hits that I grew up listening to on Tpo 40 radio, never really owning many of their albums proper.

I picked up the Doors stodio recordings cube with all of their remastered albums for $30 used last night. I'm very impressed! "The Soft Parade" was very interesting, and "LA Woman" has a looong forgotten track that is straight out of the James Brown book of funk! I love it all!

Now, I think the "LA Woman" album sounds a bit "cold". Is there a warmer-sounding version out there? Didn't DCC release this?

They did indeed, as well as The Doors, Strange Days and Waiting For The Sun. They all sound fantastic.

Now, if we could only experience Morrison Hotel and The Soft Parade with the "breath of life" (he casually hints to Steve . . . ;) )

Hi Grant,

To me, the LA Woman mix itself sounds kind of solid-state cold in relation to the other albums. But Steve's mastering is WELL worth the money. These still sell used without too much of a premium on eBay (although I haven't checked very recently).
