I hadn't even known about this until I went in to Best Buy this evening, with the intention of picking up "Cheers" Season 3. One look at the "NE" set, and my priorities changed immediately.

The set is a little skimpy at just eight episodes (the show started as a midseason replacement), especially given the $40 retail price. Apparently the cost is related to the studio having to re-license the original music from the show, but it would've been nice if they'd at least packaged the first two seasons together. I'm also disappointed that there are no commentary tracks for any of the episodes.

Still, I'm absolutely delighted that this series is coming out on DVD. If you're a fan, pick this one up as soon as you can!

I loved that show...

I've been a big fan of John Corbett ever since (where did Lucky go?)...

I actually visited the town in Central Washington state that served as the backdrop for the series...

Looks great too.

Watched several episodes last night. Be warned that the unexposed footage has some profanity lurking in there so don't let your kids watch it if that would bother you.

I picked up my copy at Wal Mart last night for $29.99. Circuit City has the next best price at $34.99. Loved Chris' explaination about the "real Alaska".

GREAT soundtrack!
Lot's of 'interesting' music.
Excellent writing & very good (especially as the show matures) acting as well.
