All I can say is wow!

What a fantastic episode, easily the best of season five, and one of the best episodes ever.
Television doesn't get better than this. I can't wait the two weeks until the season finale.

Agreed Tyler! :righton:

Ok, I'll ask... what was the song they played over the credits?

Man, I was drained after watching that episode. Every season, the second to last episode is always the best.

Hi,

Absolutley the best this season and one of the all-time best. :agree: Rather similar to some of the very early one's which got me TOTALLY hooked. Something must have changed. Who did the writing??? Did they bring back one of the early writers??? IMO, this has been the weakest season up til this point.

Wow, this episode was great!

I must say there was some very good acting going on between Adriana and Christopher.

Ew, I'm the lone minority- it was OK, but after the awesome and fun dream ep of last week, this one was kind of a let down. The Chris and Adrianna scence was great to watch- very theatrical- but the rest was just typical mob stuff. I can watch plenty of movies if I want to see that. The whole episode just felt like- "Look, you want to know what happens with all this mafia crap, as if you haven't had enough yet? Fine, here it is one big serving."

I'd rather re-watch last week's ep.

I guess this frees her up to be a regular on "Joey" ;)

Definitely disagree, but wouldn't want to disagree too strongly since I see you're from Jersey :D The scenes between Tony & Carmella, Tony & the NY boss were great drama. My chest started pounding when Tony called Adriana and told her Silvio will be picking her up and didn't stop until the closing credits.

Yes! Fantastic! I felt so bad for Adriana but we all had to know it was coming. They did a excellent job with that. I was nearly moved to tears at the sight of her face in the car going out to the country. She knew.

And Tony with Johnny Sack....wow wow wow! When that conversation began I said to my wife, "That's not Tony. Tony doesn't let people talk to him like that. I don't care who they are." Then BOOM, Tony leaped across the lines of peace between the families.

I must say, I cannot wait for the next episode.

Last night was in my opinion the best episode in Soprano history.

I loved the episode, too, and for many of the same reasons. But, it was the scene where Tony and Silvio are talking, Chris comes in, Tony asks him where he's been, and Chris replies "The highways jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive" that really hit me and had me rolling on the floor. I wonder if they got to that part in the script, needed a response line for Chris, then asked Little Steven for a suggestion.

For me, it was one of the most memorable Soprano moments ever.

Great episode but why didn't Adriana call the FBI after she got the call from Tony about the "suicide"?

Don't forget she is pretty naive. A few episodes back, she mentioned how Big Pussy was in the witness protection program. She obviously wanted to believe Tony and didn't think Christopher would turn on her.

Hi Jay,

I don't think that's what Dean is referencing. I think he's referencing that she HAD to report by 1:00pm to the FBI and that was just minutes away so why didn't she call and use the attempted suicide as her excuse for not reporting at 1:00. Me thinks the answer is........ that would have made it impossible to wack her wo/ leaving a trail.

Take care,
Jeffrey

Ok, you just get a call that a loved one has attempted suicide or in a car accident or whatever, do you immediately call your dentist (oops, I mean the FBI) to cancel your appointment?

Yes, That's what I was saying. She probably would have called the FBI right away because she had that 1:00 deadline. That's the only part of last night's story that bugs me.

Should be a slam-bam finale in 2 weeks!

Actually, (if it's the same episode I have in mind) as per the "Big Pussy" comment, it was when Rosalie Aprille and Adriana were taking a cigarette break from the movie viewing session the wives were having. Ade asked why Angie Bompensarro was left out and Roe mentioned that BP was in witness protection and it was part of what made Ade so uncomfortable that night. She almost came clean w/ the wives, but drove off instead. Your point remains that the Adriana character was pretty naive, it's what made her final outcome so poignant.

I watched "Long Term Parking" last night and when I was done, I watched it again. IMMEDIATELY!!! I watched it again this AM. You know, this whole "Nothing ever happens"...I don't understand. People want someone significant whacked every episode. Why?! I was at the TiVo boards and some nit wit there wants Carmella whacked. A cornerstone of the show and he wants her gone?! I'm of the mind there are a lot of people who watch the Sopranos, but a lot don't get it. You guys seem to have a good handle on it, though. That's why I chose to post here.

I thought it was a great episode. When Tony called, and said Silvio would pik her up, I knew what was going to happen, but I still did not know for sure till he stopped the car in the woods.

The scene with Tony and Johnny must be the setup to the final year. Could be one hell of a cliff hanger coming in two weeks!

Woo-Hoo!

Try reading through alt.tv.sopranos on Usenet. Those people are posting DURING the show! And all they do is criticize and nickpick. Can't they just enjoy it??

I thought the episode when Carmella leaves Tony was great. That whole season was just a set-up for that one. Damn fine drama.
