Andy, try tracking down one of the Sony DVD/SACD players - I picked one up at Circuit City for 3 bills. I noticed a more realistic wooden stick smacking skins and metal cymbals ringing out sensation when I got the player wired into my modest system and stuck an SACD in. It also does ordinary cd playback very well - I like it as much as my Marantz CD67SE for cd listeneing, and I haven't broken it in too much; video playback is swell, too (gotta find some good clean Warner and MGM cartoons to feed it!) :D

The only thing that bugs me about it is that it does not do DVD-A (apparently). And since I like keeping my music and video separate..... :rolleyes:

I am waiting for something that does both. One day......
