I was listening to this through headphones the other day.
Am I imagining this or did I hear Mama Cass whisper "John" (presumably referring to the author) during the break in I Call Your Name? I've never noticed it before.
She was a self-proclaimed big fan of his.

She sure did. Charming version, isn't it?

Just picked this one up today at a used CD store in Louisville. Nice work Steve. I am not a huge Mama & Papas fan, I like alot of their hits, but this CD sounds excellent! Wish that alot of the new reissues of oldies material put out sounded as well.
Now if I can only find some of those MCA rock oldies compilations...

Yes, Mama Cass is saying "John" to John Lennon, whom she had a thing for. I think Papa John Phillips says this in his autobiography.

Wasn't the "reply" to that when John had Yoko whisper his name (then reversed the tape "no-o-ojh!") on (So this is X-Mas)War is Over?

Are you talking about:
"happy christmas Kyoko
happy christmas Julian"?

No, on So This Is X-Mas you can plainly hear Yoko whispering the word "John"... in reverse. I thought I recalled reading somewhere that John did that as a joke because of "I Call Your Name." Then again, I could be thinking of that alternate universe where I have all the DCC discs I want...

I believe your thinking of #9 Dream....
"Someone called out my name (John). As it started to rain (John)...
Music touching my soul (nhoJ), something warm sudden cold (nhoJ)"
Since it was during the "Lost Weekend" it couldn't have been Yoko. If anyone it would have been May Pang.

Yes you beat me to it! It's #9 Dream.
Was it recorded during the lost weekend or just released then?
