The combo radio/CD player in my truck gets very warm and so the CD's. I wonder if this does any harm to my CD's. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

My CD's are hot too when I take them out of my car player. I worry enough not to use any Gold or XRCD Cd's, nor CD's from multi-CD sets
Exactly, Kayaker! I agree! The best reason to create CDRs!
And when you take them in from a cold environment to a warm environment (like in the winter) I let everything warm up to room temperature before I switch them. Don't want any condensation anywhere - especially in the trunk!

All,
Remember guys....the CDs are probably tougher than you give them credit for. Unless you are talking about searing, burn your hands type of heat, I would not worry.
Bob :)
I dunno about that, Bob - heat or no heat, I get the willies putting a DCC gold disc in the car CD player. Paranoia, pure paranoia. I've never had any problems with the car CD player though, and I can't see how it can chew up a disc, so I guess it's just me!
On the other hand, I picked up three MFSL gold discs including Bab Marley: Exodus, Muddy Waters: Folk Singer, last year for $10.00 each, Canadian. That's $6.00 US. There were no jewel cases or artwork - just the CD's in mint shape! Apparently the guy's house was robbed and they stole ALL his MFSL discs - these three CDs were in his car player.
Now I'm suffering from extreme paranoia. ;)

Gary,
Agreed--paranoia! I have certain DCC Gold discs just for the car. The car copies are doing "just fine" and play great after 5 to 7 years in the car CD changer. Those discs are actually pretty tough!

Thanks for the opinions, though I'd feel more comfortable with the CD player separated from the radio.
