As an old strummer in the early 70s I used to play a lot of America songs :o
Now I know they had some limitations vocally etc, but within these limitations they were quite likeable.

So yes, I confess to owning CDs of their first 4 or 5 albums.

The question I have is does anyone know if the rhino box set improves significantly on the sound of the individual album CD releases?

I am an America fan also, but I was a little disappointed with the box set. I don't think the sound was as good as it could be and I did not agree with the song selections(I know that is just a matter of personal preference). As always, I prefer the vinyl versions, and I also think the DVD-A version of Homecoming is fantastic.

I have the Japanese "Holiday & "Homecoming" CDs. They are excellent!

I have the 2001 Warner Archives, sound by Bill Inglot and find the sound to be exceptional. Huge improvement over the earlier greatest hits.

Ah........America.

One of my 3 favorite groups of the 70's.
