Here's an idea for the avid posters on our forum--comments welcome---
Wouldn't it be a great weekend one day to get to fly to LA, meet Steve, meet many of your fellow posters, maybe watch Steve in action with a master tape for an afternoon, maybe attend a record swap, etc. Just a loosely formed idea but it sure would be interesting and fun--what about something like this Steve?

It's fine with me, but you might be awfully bored watching me work.....:)

And you know the real reason to go is to get our super secret promotions from junior members to senior, our induction cards etc---seriously it would be informative, educational, and just plain fun.

Hey, I'm there! Perhaps this summer?
Would anyone think it's weird if I drove out? Nothings far if you have a car!
I did go to Florida via California once. Took three weeks, 2 days to get home. Driving every day. Saw a lot of amazing stuff (did you know there's rabbits & pheasant in Death Valley!?!) but I missed Hell's Half Acre. Next time!
Beautiful country down there! Perfect for driving!

Hey, drive, fly, boat, swim... as long as you're there!
Gary,
I don't mind if ya drive down to California. As long as you stop by here first.:D
This summer I'll be at the bottom of a canyon trying to redirect a river. Maybe someone could send me pictures?

Count me there !
I'm currently going through withdrawls now that I'm back on the east coast with no Krispy Kreme donuts ! I heard they finally opened one in the Seattle area just after I moved back to NY, talk about bad timing !
This would no doubt be a good time for all !
Best - ED
In a heartbeat!
Krispy Kreme's and In and Out Burgers!!!
And oh yeah....great Music!!! :)

I'll try to be there. I'll also drive. But I always wanted to try Fat Burger. Yup, Krispy Kreme too! And, of course i'll hit as many used record stores as I can.

Sounds like fun! I'm lucky, I live in LA, but I've never been to RTI. I'd love to see how they press records!
And it would be fun to hang with Steve for a day!!!!!!1
How about a host hotel? Group discounts, and one centralized meeting place.

I could make it in the summer - but Vegas would be better for the wife (sigh).............
ED - Krispy Cremes are in East Meadow Long Island - Right next door to me. I think it won't be long before NY is saturated.

I was out in Vegas last year- they've gone Krispy Creme crazy out there, but it might be difficult for Steve Hoffman to find a studio for the remastering demonstration...Maybe Grant could bring his best version of Buckingham/Nicks and we could see what Steve could do with that.:D

While we're working on the convention...how about something I've been dreaming of for those of us who can't pick up and just fly out to meet Steve due to money, kids, job, etc.
**We like to dream about things...here is mine**
I'd like a Members Forum pack. For like $25 or so you get a black T-shirt with a big autograph of Steve in white across the front and his picture on the back. A DCC and/or S&P Records bumper sticker. Then you get an autographed photo with Steve, Karla and the dogs. [sorry, no decoder rings] And then we'll have Steve take a camera (35mm, digital or video) along with him and take photos of all of this cool stuff like master tape boxes, record pressing, etc. and we can then deliver to the member a CD-R with the video, stills scanned from the 35mm or digital photos. And I love the idea that just for signing up for this forum you could win a autographed CD. For the paid club members, [cost permitting] there could be exclusive club samplers available for sale.
Let's face it. We're all fans of the music first, but we're also super fans of the way Steve appreciates it and delivers it to us in a way we can appreciate even more. So let's have some fan club stuff. Just my dream.

The Octoberfest in Munich is a better place... party everywhere!!!

I agree Claus but if I make that trip, I won't be able to buy the first 10 releases on S&P. One paycheck, many desires.
